Greetings from Mx City

Hello my fellow PalmAddicts. It has been a looong time since I appeared here. Unaffortunately I have no means of being updated. I can't even sync my PDA!! (That's why I have backup man or backup buddy.) No PC, no LapTop, no wireless internet on my handheld... nothing.

The good news are that i'm in MX city to begin college. I start on Jan 17! In 6 years I will be both a Political Scientist and an Economist. Yay!

I am unable to post something palm related since i am so non-updated. So just to wish you a (late) Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year. Let's hope that it brings joy and happinness to your home, blessings from God, and the best handhelds we have ever seen.

Also I want to thanks Sammy for all his support in PA and everything else. A bear-hug to you, Sammy!! Hugs(boys) and kisses(girls) to every member of the PalmAddict Community. Best.

Software Sunday

I'm having a very relaxed Sunday today.  With a log on the fire and cup of hot chocolate in hand, I have been installing new applications to my TE.

With points I won in a Handango contest, I picked up Text Twist,  Monopoly, Healthfile, a couple of Texas Hold 'Em poker games (both of which I DO NOT like so I won't mention their names here), WordPop, some new icons and Farkle.  Handango has also been giving away software this month, so I have also picked up SplashMoney and MobileDB.  And thanks to a thread at Brighthand Forums, I picked up 5 free games from Astraware!  So today I am slowly loading these new apps one at at time to my TE, running my normal applications and then adding another.  So far, no conflicts, but you never know.  Tonight I will put the games through their paces, and brace myself for the next time the kids are over and take my TE away from me again.

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Santa delivers!

I am very glad that the Christmas holiday season has left me with some time to post on PA as life has been very busy lately and I have had very little time to read and no time to post for quite a while. Not that I would have been much missed with the usual torrent of advice, news, reviews, humour and links to useful software on a daily basis. When I have been able to catch up with PA it has been great to see the usual mix of "old hands" and new contributors. I hope that all Palm Addicts everywhere had a wonderful Christmas and received at least some Palm goodies.

To my great shock, Santa was very kind this year and left a T5 for me! I have hankered after a T3 and then a T5 virtually ever since I bought my T2 nearly a year ago. I think I was more excited than my 5 and 7-year-olds were about their presents although I resisted the temptation to squeal and run around the room ..........just! I've now got to start the enjoyable task of transferring everything on to the T5. I have promised myself a clean start apart from the PIM data now that I know a bit more about what I'm doing with a Palm.

I hope that Sammy and all those working on the site, as well as all readers have a great New Year and here's to another wonderful year at Palm Addict.

Blocks

Eric Mann just sent me the link to ElectronHut who produce some great Palm games including Blocks which is a great freeware tetris game and I had this on my m515 some time ago. "Blocks is our version of Tetris for the Palm. Nothing fancy, just your basic Tetris game. And it's FREE! Download today and enjoy! "

Where Is The GSM Treo 650?

Kent has let me know that has written a new editorial over at Pocket Factory this morning. Where Is The GSM Treo 650? "When PalmOne introduced the Treo 650 back in October, I couldn't wait to get my hands on one. unfortunately Sprint was the only carrier offering the 650, which remains unchanged to this very day. Whether this is part of an exclusive arrangement, or a product delay, the fact is no other carriers have stepped up to the plate; and the GSM model appears to be missing in action completely."

Stuck in a snowstorm

James Burdine sent a lovely email into me this afternoon. "Sammy, I am a longtime reader and wanted to let you know how much I enjoy reading your site everyday. I used to live in New York and am now based in Mexico City - where you can find lots of Wifi access points!  Amazingly I'm sitting in a coffee shop in Michigan (during a snowstorm) connected to the internet via my trusty TC reading the mobile edition of your site. Thanks for all of your efforts in keeping the site fresh everyday. Happy Holidays." Brrr it makes me cold reading this. Stay safe James.

Pocket Oxford English Dictionary and MSDict Viewer updated

Need a dictionary? I probably do for my spelling well the Pocket Oxford English Dictionary and MSDict Viewer have been updated today. "This is a Palm OS reissue of the ninth edition of the world's longest-established pocket English dictionary by Oxford University Press. It is one of the new generation Oxford dictionaries derived from the database of the highly acclaimed New Oxford Dictionary of English and is particularly user friendly with its elegant open design, with different elements starting on new lines. It offers excellent coverage of English as an international language and thousands of examples illustrate idiomatic usage. All irregular noun, verb, and adjectival inflections are spelled out in full, while guidance on grammar and good usage is provided by in-text notes. Additional features include Wordbuilder boxes giving information on related words and thematic tables on subjects such as countries, chemical elements, and nationalities."

PAjDAX - Revolution

PAjDAX - Revolution 2.01 has been updated this morning. Shareware at $9.95. "PAjDAX 2 is a logical game, which excells in GREAT graphics, designed for Palm OS devices which features 200 levels. There are 150 classic levels and 50 brand new ones. NEW levels include Teleports which help you move your gems, cloners to double them, and "killers" to destroy your gems. The FULL version of this game will guide you through easier beginnings to the depths of despair about finding the right way. Some levels can be solved through several different ways; on the other hand, some have the only one. Great appearance is not the thing that makes any game THE GAME, but the playability above all and the fun make the game appealing such as the PAjDAX. This game is extremely catching and causes great addiction, which we call the PAjDAX!"
